Healthcare business management and IT solutions vendor PracticeMax is reaching out to members of VillageHealth after a ransomware attack potentially exposed their protected health information (PHI). Thousands of patients could be impacted by this incident.

The data breach notice for patients of Village Health, a provider for end-stage kidney disease patient care, outlines that data involved in the incident includes members’ names, dates of birth, address, phone numbers, member ID, and other clinical data.

PracticeMax does not expect any data to be used maliciously but they are warning patients to remain vigilant and to continue to monitor their accounts and medical records.
