Butler County Community College classes have been canceled for at least two days as the school recovers from a ransomware attack. The school is working hard to restore its IT systems after the crippling attack took out its databases, hard drives, servers, and other devices.

A cyber attack on third-party service, Atlassian, has potentially exposed personal details of 30,000 current and former students of the University of Colorado Boulder. A vulnerability on Atlassian, the resource sharing software program used by the institution’s Office of IT, was taken advantage of by threat actors when the university’s department was preparing to implement a new version of the software.
360,000 Quebec Teachers Affected By Data Breach
After hackers accessed a database holding personal information for people working or having worked as teachers in Quebec, fears are that nearly 360,00 people might be affected by the data breach. Quebec’s Treasury Board revealed that the hackers were able to access the database by stealing a user code and password.
