30K Healthcare Workers’ Info Found On Unprotected Database
A team of ethical hackers at Website Planet reportedly found exposed personal information for more than 30,000 US healthcare workers on a non-password-protected database. The database in question is owned by Florida-based healthcare staffing provider Gale Healthcare Solutions.

According to CBC news, an anonymous tipster reported the problem to the news agency’s website, exposing the fact that Portpass had left all of the data unencrypted. Once informed of the situation, the Canadian company acted quickly in response to the leaky database securing it within 24 hours. Although the company had reacted well, the discovery was too late as over 1 million students and rejected membership applicants had their personally identifiable information compromised.
Rogers Communications Notified of Minor Data Leak
Canadian Telecommunications giant, Rogers, recently had sensitive data exposed on their GitHub developers platform. Cyber Security researchers informed UK cyber media outlet, The Register, after finding two open accounts exposing information which included: Application source code, internal user credentials and private keys.

Thousands Impacted By Freedom Mobile Server Leak
Thousands of Freedom Mobile customers had their personal information compromised in an unencrypted database. Security researchers found that the database was without a password and written in plain text. Information included: customers’ email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, dates of birth, account numbers and IP addresses. Financial information was also found on the server, including: credit card numbers, security codes and credit scores.
