Customer support provider TTEC, has confirmed a recent ransomware attack. The industry giant has nearly 60,000 employees and boasts a client book with several major companies including Bank of America, Best Buy, Verizon and more, making it a highly attractive target for cyber criminals.

The data breach is believed to have taken place around September 12, as company data was encrypted along with several business activities experiencing temporary disruptions as well. While details on the severity of the incident and whether or not a ransom has been demanded/met, TTEC officials have stated that the incident is now under full investigation as they are prepared to “take additional action, as appropriate, based on the investigation’s results.”

As the investigation carries on, clients, employees, and other TTEC stakeholders will surely be advised to be on the lookout for any fraudulent activities and/or further cyber attacks on individual companies.
